I remember the moment I first heard Lonely The Brave, they were the opening act for ADTR and I was putting my stuff in the cloak room. Mark lipped every word to what can only be described as stunning vocals from Dave!! I've seen some of the greatest bands on the planet and these guys are right up with them! They are going to be HUGE and really hope that its Reading and Leeds this year that launch them to where they deserve to be!! Music is in these people and they share it so generously with people who understand!!! Thanks for a great gig!! We can't wait for the next!! Figgiting nervously as he prepared himself for the first track! And then they performed! Mark and the boys tight as you like. But then, enter LONELY THE BRAVE!! Having missed out on their last set at Fibbers, I had no real expectations other than their ability to right and record amazing music!! Lead guitarist and highly charismatic front man Mark clicked with us straight away making us all feel part of their family as lead singer Dave stood awkwardly in the background. Some chick with a guitar and a beatbox was just dull.

Which we all do, cos the venue is full of real music lovers appreciating good music whatever the genre! I'm not a big fan of thrash metal, yet survived the first support act. And the new one (once a popular nightclub) fails to disappoint, so long as you like sticky floors and the smell of stale lager and body odour. Go see them whilst they still play the more intimate venue's, and pick up a copy of their album. Hand on heart, this was the best I have seen LTB perform and my fellow fan's were of the same opinion.

Even if this is the case, you can not doubt that Jakes performance is one of pure emotion and boy, can he sing. Those not familiar with LTB shows may be forgiven for thinking that Jakes is not a natural front-man, preferring to be back of stage leaving crowd interaction to the more energetic guitarist Mark Trotter. The crowd were 100% behind the band, screaming along with singer David Jakes as he sang "I wanna know what it's like, so I can feel it inside". For me though, the absolute highlight was 'The Blue, The Green'. LTB came on stage to a capacity crowd playing the 'intro' from the new album, then launched into a catalogue of classics with (not in order) 'Call of Horses', 'Black Saucers', 'Victory Line', 'Trick of the Light' and 'Backroads'. Firstly, it marked the release of their long awaited debut album, 'The Day's War', and secondly, the band secured a deal with Columbia Records which saw the original release date and gig put back from June. The buzz around the Dingwalls show had been building momentum for a while. I have been watching Lonely the Brave play venues round East Anglia for sometime and they always deliver a blinding show.
